Funeral services for Valentina Gomez Samarripa, 83, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Ramiro Tarazona officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Samarripa died Thursday in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Samarripa was born in Mendoza May 21, 1927. She married Isaac Samarripa in 1948. They moved to Temple in 1951. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was active in the Ladies Group. Survivors include her husband Isaac Samarripa of Temple; two sons Julian Martinez of Temple and Andrew Samarripa of Angleton; one daughter Mary Galvan of Temple; two brothers Nieves Tellez of Austin and Gus Gomez of Dale; one sister Alice Sanchez of Temple; eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Building Fund. Rosary was recited Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
