Velma A. Clark, age 87 of Temple, formerly of El Dorado, Kansas, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 in a local hospital. Funeral services and burial will be held later this week in El Dorado, Kansas. The family will receive visitors from 6-7:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Clark was born on February 6, 1926 in Newton, Kansas to the late Thomas Jackson Gaines and Linda Weber Gaines. She attended schools in Walton, Kansas and graduated from Walton High School. Velma married James M. Clark on February 16, 1944. Mr. Clark preceded her in death on March 30, 2010. She worked as an aide at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. Velma loved traveling and camping. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado, Kansas. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Kay Olcott and husband Jared of Temple; a son, Thomas Earl Clark and wife Kathy of El Dorado, Kansas; a sister, Genevieve M. Margrave of Fall City, Nebraska; four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
