Verlyn Cordell

Graveside services for Verlyn Evans Maxfield Cordell, 93, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 1, 2007 at Bellwood Memorial Park with Minister Darrell Knight officiating. Mrs. Cordell died Thursday in a Temple Nursing Home. Mrs. Cordell was born in Sulphur Springs to Le Roy and Ann Bertie Creath Maxfield. She moved to Temple in 1931. She was a nurse and worked as an ECG Technician for Kings Daughters Hospital and Clinic for 20 years. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Cox and second husband A.D. Cordell and by one son Jack Edward Cox. Survivors include two grandsons Bennett Cox and Marshall Cox both of Katy and one great granddaughter Casey Marie Cox of New Braunfels, daughter in law Peggy Cox of New Braunfels; two nephews Jerry Maxfield of Temple, Jim (Aggie) Maxfield of Temple, three nieces Oleta McDonald of Chandler, Chris Morris of Sulphur Springs and Juanita Frazier of California.
