

Virginia Eitel Marler, age 62 of Troy, died Saturday, September 21, 2019 in an Austin hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 25th at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Kurtis Wiedenfeld as celebrant. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 24th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Marler was born October 30, 1956 in Rosebud to Santos and Bicenta Vargas Nava. She graduated from Rosebud High School and attended Temple College. She received her bachelor’s degree from UMHB. She worked five years at the Bell County Health District. She retired as an elementary school teacher after 30 years of service. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Survivors include her husband, Forrest Marler, two sons, Richard Eitel and Jason Eitel and three grandsons, Jeremiah, Landan and Lance Eitel all of Troy. She is also survived by two brothers, Pete Nava and wife, Angie of Tucson, AZ and Alfred Nava of Austin and one sister, Dora Petty and husband, Leon of League City.
Pallbearers will be J J Pedroza, Mark Pedroza, Marc Masterson, Ricky Parcus, Randy Parcus, Monroe Parcus, Michael Gutierrez and Drew Johnson.
Memorial donations may be made to any local school.
