
Viva Lee Wheeler, age 91 of Denton formerly of Little River, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in a Denton hospital. No services are planned at this time. Mrs. Wheeler was born October 14, 1923 in Osage, Oklahoma to Denver Lee and Vival Katherine Hooper Barber. She received a bachelor's of science degree from Tarleton State University in 1969. She worked as a clerk for Phillips Petroleum Company in Odessa for 15 years retiring in 1985. She was a former resident of Odessa, Ruidoso, New Mexico and Little River. She married Gordon Wheeler on April 23, 1971 in Lovington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Pattie Jo Goff and husband, Larry of Denton, two sons, Michael Pulattie and wife, Linda of Denton and Dan Pulattie and wife, Sharon of Georgetown, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials in her name can be made online @ www.kanakukinstitute.com, which is a post graduate nondenominational Christian school dedicated to higher education with Christian values, located in Branson, Missouri.
