

Welda Faye Wilson Dillard, 93, of Temple died Sunday, December 8, 2013 in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at White Rock Cemetery in Ross, Texas with Dr. Ron Milne officiating. Faye was born July 29, 1920 to Clark M. and Lella May Wilson in Elm Mott, Texas. She graduated from LaVega High School in Waco, Texas. She married Sam J. Dillard on June 5, 1940 in Waco, Texas. They moved to Temple in 1950 and she lived here for 63 years. Faye owned and operated Niblack Systems and founded Temple Welcome Wagon which was a service to greet newcomers to the city. She was active in numerous clubs and organizations including Temple Chamber of Commerce, Temple's EveryWomans Club, Temple Elks Lodge and a member of The Daughter's of the American Revolution. She worked in Genealogy Research for many local families. She was a former member of First Baptist church of Temple and was a current member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple. She served as Director of Social Planning and Activities for the Temple Country Club, Manager of Western Hills Apartments, Sales Representative for Harvey Advertising and Marketing and Social Director for Temple Holiday Inn. Faye was active in and loved genealogy and worked to assist others in their search of family history. Survivors include her son Richard Dillard and his wife Peggy of Belton; three grandchildren, De Anna Powers and husband Mark of Lewisville, Richard Dillard, Jr. of Dumas, TX and Chad Dillard of Belton; five great grandchildren, Ashley Powers and Mike Metzler of Carrollton, Hayley Elrod and husband Peyton of Lewisville, Joshua Powers, Garrett Powers of Lewisville and Hunter Dillard of White Oak, TX; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma Powers of Carrollton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark M. and Lella May Wilson; husband, Sam Dillard in 1996; sisters, Lucille Pierce and Maurine Barr-Russell and brother, Douglas Wilson and two great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Temple or Belton Public Libraries, Genealogy Department.
