My earliest memory of my Uncle Albert was when I was about 3 years old.  My family was visiting my grandparents along with my Aunt Lois and Uncle Al and my cousins.  It was warm enough that we were all outdoors.  While I was running and playing, I fell and scraped my knee very badly (had the scar for years!).  I remember crying hysterically with my knee bleeding and Uncle Al came and picked me up.  He comforted me and very calmly carried me to my parents while I bled all over his shirt (in my memory it was white but my mind may have added that detail!).  Thanks Uncle Al for your care that day so many years ago.  I'm sorry that I didn't get to say goodbye but can cherish wonderful memories of time spent with Uncle Al,  Aunt Lois along with Jeanne, Kim, Albert & Steven while growing up.  Countless holidays and visits to the Jersey Shore!    I hope that all of his family takes comfort in knowing that he lived a good life and is at peace now with his wife and son and other loved ones who have passed.  Rest in peace Uncle Albert. Lois was my girl from when we were babies. we shared so much together. The family was upset that Lois was going to marry an "old man" I met them and Albert and I became friends for life.  I mourned when Lois died. I spoke to her just before she passed. When Carol and I both got Cancer, Albert called and spoke to us. He called just before he went into the Hospital. When Jeanne told me, I was shocked, because he felt so lively. Go in peace Albert and join Lois and Steven. I guess they missed your love. Thank you for being my friend. Lois did well.


I remember back in college when I would come and live with my Uncle Sal and work at his landscaping company. Coming from Virginia didn’t know the family as well as I would have liked, but got to know Albert while working there, he laying the pavers while I did the grunt work. He was a master at it  and would tell us stories of his life and life in the “old” days! I immediately took to him and when we came back to Jersey would spend time with Albert, Lois and the family. I will never forget him coming often to visit my dad during his final days, it meant so much to me and my family that he would do this. A good man, a good soul, and I cherish the time spent with him. He will be missed

Dear Jeanne and Family,
Please accept my apologies for not being able to attend your Dad's funeral. 
Words, no matter how kind, can't take away your heartache.  Mr. Malfitano had heart...he would always walk in with a smile and was a pleasure to be around.  I'm sure you and your siblings learned alot of wonderful things from him and his guidance will live with all of you forever.

Dear Al
My heart is heavy with sadness on the word of your passing.  Al...I’ve always admired you as a person, knowing that had come from humble beginnings and that through your hard work ethics you were able to accomplish so much in life. The giving of yourself and the sacrifices you made to help friends and family, were part of who you were as a person, always there for people in the time of need.  I will cherish all the wonderful times and talks we had together.  Al, know that your time has passed, my memories of you will live on.  You were a great friend and positive influence in my life. Dear Uncle Albert,
I can’t believe you’re gone.  Who’s going to tell me the family stories? Who’s going to stay on the phone for another hour after we say goodbye?  Who’s going to show up on my mothers doorstep and stay to have a cup of tea and reminisce?  Who’s going to tell me things that my father would have told me? All I know is that you left us so quickly that I didn’t have time to ask you all those questions?  But I know you, Aunt Lois, my cousin Steven, my Father, Uncle Joe, Aunt Ida, Aunt Nini, Uncle Alfio, Uncle Rico, Aunt Rosetta and my Jack are an amazing group of angels to help guide me through all those questions when I’m in doubt!  You filled that void after my dad passed and both you and my father left enough knowledge and direction within me that I hope to pass to Christina. Thank you for all the advice you gave me and the talks through my difficult times. The only thing I am so sorry I missed was to learn how  to can tomatoes with you. Jeanne will have to take the reigns and show me. I’ll never forget fishing with you down the shore and you showing me how to bait the hook and go crabbing. I’ll never forget the great times in your home in Towaco and the closeness I had with your family. I hope me and all my cousins can get together, as you so wished would happen. It’s a work in progress that I hope one day you will be proud of. I miss you already... Until we meet again. I am heartbroken over the loss of my dad. He was my hero and my friend. This is a devastating loss for all who knew him. He was a true friend to all. There was never a time he turned down a request for help from anyone. He taught me how to be a good person and to work hard. He taught me how to drive even though I didn’t want to learn. He gave me wings to fly and take care of myself. He shared the best stories of his life and I will miss the hours of conversations with him about life, love, and loss. He was the only one who could comfort me when I was sick during my childhood. He always made me feel better and he gave me peace. He was my hero during snowstorms when I was afraid to drive on the roads. He helped me to find my way when I was lost. 
	
I love you Dad more than words can say. I will miss you even though I know you are with mom and Steven in paradise. You will always be on my mind and in my heart always. Rest in Peace Daddy.


My heart is broken over the loss of my Grandpa. I know that he’s at peace and with my Grandma and my Uncle Steven and that he’s not suffering anymore, but I wish I had had more time with him. I wish I could have visited him sooner or talked to him more. I am very fortunate to have gotten the chance to tell him that I love him and for him to see my daughter, his Great Granddaughter, over Facetime, but I wish I could have told him how much I missed him and that I remember going crabbing with him. He taught me how to fish and even though baiting the hook with live bait was gross and weird, I still had a good time and would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant we could go fishing together again. I remember watching baseball with him when he visited even though I was never into sports. I just enjoyed being with him. I’ll miss his hugs and hearing his voice. I will love you forever and always Grandpa and I’m so glad you’re not in pain anymore. Rest in Peace Grandpa. I love you.

Grandpa , i miss you so much! You were always there for me when i needed it most. You reminded me constantly that there’s nothing in life i couldn’t handle. Reminded me that i deserve the best life has to offer someone. I will miss your surprise visits on my birthday because you forgot to mail my card. I’ll miss sitting and reminiscing about my childhood and how you always stood up for me. You wanted nothing but the best for me right up until your last day with us. I know you’re resting peacefully with grandma but we miss you so much already. Love you so much and continue to watch over me. 

Dad, I cannot believe you are gone.  Such a strong man with so much wisdom.  You were always there when I needed help with anything.  You had such great stories of the past,  I am going to miss hearing them.  I am going to miss canning tomatoes, our Christmas Eve celebrations, and many more things we did,  You were such a caring Grandfather to Nick, Danielle, & Christine they are losing such a great man.  I loved when you and Eddie would sit for hours talking about everything, I know he is missing that already.  You will always be loved and missed for ever.  Rest in peace with Mom and Steven. I have so many fond memories of my Uncle Albert who I have known my whole life, from the many nights visiting with my Parents at his house in Belleville watching my Dad and Uncle Albert play pool in the basement to the wee hours of the morning to when I was older and at his house in Towaco when I was good enough to play pool with them and then working for him and my Dad on Uncle Sam's Construction sites to later in life when he worked with my Dad on his jobs. He was always kind, considerate.  helpful, just a great guy and role model for me. He loved his Wife, Children and Brothers and Sisters. He told me that when his Brother's married their Wives became his Sisters and he meant it always looking in on my Mom, Aunt Ruthie and Aunt Marie after my Dad and Uncle Sam and Uncle Rico had passed.  I will always remember the kindness and help he gave to my  Mom when she was having her own heath issues. I will certainly miss all those great Malfitano stories he told. We send our love to Jeanne, Albert Jr. and Kim......

Words can not describe what I feel for my dad in my heart.Growing up he was like a superman to me, he was strong like bull!! I felt nothing could hurt him !! Even in his elder years he was an amazingly strong man. He could do anything a younger man can do.At 88 years old he was still going strong. In the fall he was out raking leaves,climbing a ladder to clean his gutters of leaves and other junk.In the winter he would be out shoveling snow. In the spring and summer he would be outside tending his garden and keeping his grounds clean and well groomed.He was amazing. My heart is crushed. I will miss him so !! I will miss everything he was and everything he stood for !! 

My Heart Love and Prayers go out to you All. Your Dad and Grandpa was a firecracker. Enjoyed his visits to the shop.

Our hearts break for all of you . Tom and I have truly lost a good friend and neighbor . We both aspired to be like Al at his age . His energy was amazing . He would come over and sit at dining table and share such wonderful memories of his working years and raising his family . To have known him was to love him . We hold you all close 💔
