Alfa Jokubaitis, 96, entered eternal rest on September 6, 2021 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC. Alfa was born June 8, 1925 in Birjociai, Lithuania to Petras and Elzbieta Zalis (nee Grigaliunyte). Alfa attended school in nearby Radviliskis. As world War II was coming to a close Alfa relocated to Hanau, Germany where she lived and continued her studies until emigrating to the United States in May, 1949. She married Viktoras Jokubaitis in 1950 and settled in Hillside, NJ to raise their family. Alfa was employed over 25 years by Bristol-Myers where she worked with the consumer products division. Upon their retirement, Alfa and Viktoras moved to Toms River, NJ before Alfa ultimately moved to Stanley, NC in 2011.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 56 years, Viktoras. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Petras and sister Stefa. Alfa is survived by her sons Leonard A. Jokubaitis, Raymond A. Jokubaitis and Vito P. Jokubaitis. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Lauren Jokubaitis, Michael Jokubaitis, Caitlin Jokubaitis and Bradford Jokubaitis.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River from 10 am to 11:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River at 12 pm. Entombment will follow to Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting, NJ.
