
Born in Portland, OR, he resided in North Bergen before settling in Toms River 24 years ago.
Prior to retiring, he was a lithographer for the Local 1 Lithographers Union in New York and New Jersey. Anthony honorably served our country in the US Navy, having served from 1951-1955 as a radio operator on the USS Fox. On the weekends, he also worked and enjoyed selling Sabrett hot dogs with his family in North Bergen and West New York.
Anthony was active in the Holiday City Community recreation center, where he sang with the Melodiers and acted in the Variety Club. He sang in the church choir on Sundays. Anthony also was part of a bowling league for many years and enjoyed all sports.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Louise; his children: Lorraine Picone, Joseph Picone and his wife Ketty, Rosanne Turkington and her husband Timothy; his grandchildren: Rocco, Mason, Taylor, Shannon, and Ryan; his sister: Roslyn Iacobino; and his nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Berkeley. Interment will immediately follow at Madonna Cemetery, Ft. Lee
