

Antonio Silva, 90, of the Holiday City South section of Berkeley Township, Toms River passed away at home on Sunday June 27, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Murtosa, Portugal, Antonio came to the United States at the age of 17 on his own and lived for many years in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ where he met and married his wife Lidia Silva. He then moved to Palm Coast, Florida for over 25 years before moving back to NJ to Holiday City South 3 years ago. He was a printer and owned several printing shops throughout his career as well as founding two newspapers, LaTribuna and The Portuguese Times.
Antonio was predeceased by his son Antonio DaSilva in 2017, his daughter Jacqueline Smolski in 2011 and his grandson Christopher Oliveira in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Lidia Costeira Silva; his daughter Lidia Rossi and her husband George and six grandchildren – Gabriella Oliveira, Eddie Smolski and his wife Kristi, Samantha, Steven and Stephanie Smolski, and Anthony DaSilva.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday July 9, 2021 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 12:00 PM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ 08757.
