When I began teaching at MEMS in 1993, I immediately recognized the exceptional camaraderie in the Science Department. Barbara and I became instant friends. I could always count on her support and assistance. After her retirement we lost track of each other, but I have always cherished the memories that we shared. She was a special teacher and a great friend. May she Rest In Peace.

Barbara was my friend. I was blessed to know her for over50 years. We worked, traveled and even exercised together. She was my "buddy", confidant, "partner in crime" and ever patient knitting teacher.
She had me join a gym (neither one of us would tell the other that we didn't want to go),had me doing both yoga and tai chi. She was always available for a trip to Barnes and Noble or a sojourn over to Jersey Freeze where she was partial to shakes. We shared books and "secrets" that we would never tell others.
She was there ready to go to the doctor, or drive me to the hospital for surgery. We may not have been related by blood, but we were sisters. We spoke every day, sometimes twice a day; the hardest time is 7:15 am when it was my time to call. We had to be finished by 7:45 because that was Linda's time. You fought to the better end, a valiant fight I admire your courageous, upbeat attitude and the strength you displayed. Rest in peace as I hold you forever in my heart.

When Steve and I were on one of the first of several trips taken with the Ocean County Retired Educators Association we met Barbara and Linda and often sat together during lunch or cocktails before dinner and found that we all shared treasured moments as educators. I always referred to them as "The Sisters" and loved seeing them together while they were knitting on the trip bus. They were both delightful people and we were saddened when we learned that Barbara faced a critical medical issue. She did rebound and attended another trip and was in great spirits. She will be missed. I wish the best to Linda and her family whom Barbara loved very much. Treasure all your memories.
With sincere sympathy,
Rae Saulino

John and I were saddened to learn of Barbara's death. We weren't close friends but knew her thru her best friend, Nimfa my sister. We very much enjoyed her company (playing games & her dry humor) when we visited NJ from our new home in Virginia as well as our prior home in Michigan. When Barbara visited Virginia this past summer in June she enjoyed the wineries, fresh air, mountains and watching the deer as they wandered thru our yard. The photo is of Barbara & Nimfa at Natural Bridge State Park, VA.
She will be very much missed. May she rest in God's loving peace.

Miss Nick was my 6th Grade teacher at Milford Brook back in 1978. I remember her as tough but fair and very open to helping us. I am so sorry to hear this news.
