Barbara (nee Idzi) Wilbert died peacefully at home June 3. Barbara was born on October 19, 1920 in Oil City, Pa. Barbara came to Bloomfield NJ at an early age where she met Joseph Daneski and later married. She was employed by Ohrbachs in Newark for many years managing the handbag dept.
After her husband Joseph passed, she worked in the Library at Shering Corp. in Bloomfield. Barbara was later introduced to Richard Wilbert and they married. It was always Barbara's dream to have a house near the ocean so she could host her family and friends during the summertime at the shore. After marrying Richard they retired and moved to Holiday City in Toms River, NJ and to her delight for many years, they entertained family and friends.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Jan and Catherine Idzi, her sister Rose Futyma, Sophie McKeegan and Clara Byrd, her brothers Adam, Chester, Stanley, John and Richard Idzi. She is survived by her sister Stella Way of Pittsburgh Pa., many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and step sons Robert Wilbert and his wife Jeanne, Lester Wilbert and his wife Pam and a host of step nieces, nephews and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 9 – 11 AM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday 11:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice in memory of Barbara.
