

Benjamin was born in Jersey City, NJ to Anthony and Helen Gawrych, where he grew up before moving to Howell in 1966.
Ben served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1992, Benjamin and his wife Janet moved to warmer weather in Port St. Lucie, FL. He and his wife Janet returned to New Jersey in 2015 to be closer to family and friends.
Benjamin was an amazing husband, father grandfather and great grandfather. He was naturally funny and had a great sense of humor. He could light up the room with his smile and charm.
Benjamin is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Anthony Gawrych, his sister Dorothy, son Lenny and beloved wife Janet of 54 years. Benjamin is survived by his sons Marc Gawrych, Jeff Kusman, Michael and his wife Janice Kusman, daughter Lenore and husband Bill Kuter and his daughter-in-law Maryann Jackson. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Michael Kuter and wife Anna, Gregory Kuter and wife Marion, Jeffrey Kuter and fiancé Katie, Stephen Kuter and fiance Valerie, Valerie Busch, Taylor Schulz and husband John, Matthew Jackson and girlfriend Maxine, Mikayla Contino and husband Vinny, Zaria and Alina, Carin, Jason, Garett, and his great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Floyd, Luke, Shae, Skylar, Addison and Cayden.
Visitation is on Thursday, September 22nd from 10:00AM-12:30PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River NJ 08755 where a funeral service will take place at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
