Born in Brooklyn NY, he grew up and went to school in Rahway NJ. In school he was active in sports and was an All State football player and wrestler winning many championships. He was married in 1967 and moved to Beachwood NJ in 1971. As a NJ State Trooper for 30 years, he was assigned to the Governor Security Unit. Eight of those years were spent as the Governor’s wife Mrs. Kean’s personal driver and guard. After retiring a Sergeant First Class in the NJ State Police in 1996, he went to work with Sam Russo in the Tree business. He was also an active member of the church and served faithfully including building homes for the poor with Our Fathers Business in the Bahamas and Mexico. He helped anyone who was in need and did so with a joyful heart. Even after his passing he is continuing to help others with his disease, PSP, by donating his brain for research. He loved playing senior softball, was an avid fisherman, ran 7 marathons and many different races including triathlons and loved his model trains. He enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, sons, grandchildren and friends and traveling around the country with his wife visiting family. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife Patricia (McGarry) Finn. 2 sons: Michael and his wife Marcia of Middletown NJ and Kevin and his wife Eva of Naples FL. 9 Grandchildren: Jeana, Bailey, Rylee, Liam, Gwyneth, Micah, Gracie, Loghan & Ian. 2 Great-Grandchildren: Christopher & Cameron. A brother Patrick and his wife Stephanie of Durham NC.
