

Bruce was born in New York, New York in 1947 to Rita and Ernest Bioni. He grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1967-1970 during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1970, he attended Hunter College in NY and then pursued a career as an MRI Technician, working in that field in New York and New Jersey for 30+ years. In 1980, he met Cathy in Whitestone, NY and married her in 1981 and had three daughters.
Bruce spent his retirement years traveling with his wife, spending time with his daughters, playing poker with his friends, taking care of his fish, and staying active with the VFW and American Legion. He had a love of old movies and Frank Sinatra music. But his most important role was Pop Pop. His grandchildren were his whole world and he enjoyed spoiling them as much as possible.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Catherine Bioni; his three daughters, Katy Larrabee (Peter), Maureen Bioni (Matthew), and Eileen Brandsdorfer (Carey). He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren Andrew and Emily Larrabee, William and Luke Latif, and Liam and Ryan Brandsdorfer. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Brennan.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 13, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke’s RC Church 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
