

Ceslovas “Chet” Stupinkevicius, passed away peacefully on Oct. 24, 2025. He was 87. Born in Kybartai, Lithuania, he lived and raised his family in Kearny, NJ before moving to Toms River 7 years ago. Chester worked for the Construction and General Building Laborers Union #79 in NYC before retiring. He was a member of the Copestone-Ophir Masonic Lodge #108 and the Valley of North Jersey Scottish Rite lodge, and very active in the Salaam Temple Shriners organization, where he was a member of various units including the Provost Guard, Motor Core, Chef’s Club and honorary member of the Legion of Honor. His favorite unit he belonged to was the Shepherds where he would transport the young patients of the Shriner Hospitals to and from their appointments at the Philadelphia and Massachusetts hospitals. He was also a proud member of Kearny Police Reserve for many years. He was known for his love of his family, quick wit, willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need and made a positive impact on the lives of anyone he met.
Chester was the beloved husband for 63 years of Joan (nee Coleman), loving father of Susan Yuknalis (Joseph) and Judy Osborn (Thomas McCann), cherished brother of Sigitas Stupinkevicius (Mary). He is also survived by his six grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Lucien, Deborah, Michael and William and four great-grandchildren of Jaxson, Lucas, Savanah Rose and Luca. He was predeceased by his mother Agota Stupinkevicius.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Toms River, NJ on Tuesday Oct. 28th from 4pm to 8pm. A funeral service will begin at 7:30 pm. Burial will be private.
