Claire M. ( Zimmer) Olohan, 90, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2019. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Newark, NJ for many years before moving to Toms River 17 years ago. She had worked for many years for the Newark Board of Education.

Claire was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Olohan and her son Robert M. Olohan Sr., and sister Marjorie Viggiani. Survived by brother Bill Zimmer (Fran). She is survived by two sons Richard and Catherine Olohan of North Arlington and William and Catherine Olohan of Iselin; a daughter Eileen and Frank Geraci of Plymouth Lake; 8 grandchildren - Maureen (Sal), Tara (Joey), Bobby (Laura), Richard (Katie), Timothy, Patrick (Michelle), Caitlin (John) and Michael; 6 great-grandchildren - Joseph, Jake, Richie, James, Bobby and Violet. Along with her many grand-doggies.

A one of a kind Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Great Grandma and loyal friend. She was a lover of the ocean and the beach and enjoyed family vacations there for many many years with her husband Bob and her children. She cherished life, her family, laughter, music and all animals. She would rather be in the middle of a big family party or enjoying family visits at home and playing games with the kids than anywhere else. Her smile could light up any room. She told it like it is and her sassy comebacks and honesty were a big part of what we all loved about her. If you needed advice, she'd listen for hours. She will be missed more than words can ever say. Life was better just because she was in it. As her favorite Sinatra said - she did it her way! For sure. Heaven has gained a ray of sunshine.

Visiting hours are Monday November 11, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 am. Burial will be at the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Claire’s memory to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Olohan, my best man's (Richie O) Mom, by birth, and like my own, by time, attention and love.
Humorous inspiration and continued teaching after my Mom died made me a fan forever. Mrs O was always kind and genuine, classy and loving.
Eileen and The Boys are from the best stock, their awesome Mom & Dad. It's no wonder I've been heard singing "I wanna be an Olohan!"
Your presence is gone only in the physical realm, your spirit will continue to be with us always!
Thanks so much for giving humanity a good name, Mrs Olohan!

Claire Olohan was a wonderful person who was loved by many. I will remember how she would give me an extra peanut butter cookie at East Side when I went in to buy lunch while working there.
She was always warm and kind and had a terrific sense of humor. I am saddened by her passing, but I know that hers was a life well lived, one full of love and compassion for others. Claire will be remembered for being beautiful not only with her smile, but the beauty beyond in her heart and soul. At this, the season of thanks and gratitude, I am so grateful for having known her. Thank you for being there, Claire! My condolences to her beautiful family.

Auf Wiedersehen, old friend.
I was blessed and thankful to have Claire in
my life these many, many years. We made a
lot of memories and had many, many really
good times.
I will remember her always.

When I was in the first couple years of grade school I was in the same grade as Bill, their youngest son. I was at their house so much I may as well been an Olohan . Mrs Olohan treated me like her own as well did Mr. Olohan. I was always Petey when greeted by any of the clan and my fondest memories of my youth was being loaded into the family car and being brought to the lake like I was one of the family. I have so much respect for Mrs. Olohan that I can’t bring myself to call her anything but Mrs. Olohan, using her first name just doesn’t seem right. Other than my own Mom, I couldn’t have a more loving person in my life than Mrs. Olohan.
I pray you Rest In Peace and I will see you again at the Resurrection.
God bless you and all the family.
With love, Petey

With a heavy heart we say goodbye for now, to an Angel of a Mother, Grandmother and Grammy that brought joy to her family. Always making time to give others a conversation and somehow making you feel special. I will always remember your glow and presence in a gathering. Rest In Peace ❤️
