Collette F. Spadaro

March 6, 1937 to February 14, 2015

Collette F. Spadaro beloved wife of 56 years of Louis R. Spadaro, passed peacefully at home on Saturday February 14th after a long illness.

Collette was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She attended & loved her parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Brooklyn. She was one 7 children of Bertha & John Rodgers, 5 sisters Dorothy, Virginia, Kathleen, Joan, Margaret and 1 brother John.

She married her childhood sweetheart Louis on May 17, 1958. They had 6 children- 4 boys & 2 girls. Collette was an exceptional homemaker. Additionally, she was a caretaker to her mother & grandmother while raising her large family.

She moved to Toms River in 1976, she was a sales associate of Bradlees in Toms River for more than 20 years. She also worked for the Toms River schools as a bus aid to disabled children for many years, displaying love and compassion for the children.

Collette was graceful under fire, dignified—a true lady. In addition to raising her 6 children she selflessly cared for her youngest son Thomas who is a quadriplegic.

She loved Bingo, Kahlua, going to the Beach and pool. She also loved to dance with her husband and her family.

She truly treasured her sisters in-law Gloria and Lillian and her Best Friend Eileen. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews, her dear friends and her huge extended family.

She was survived by her husband Louis, her children Karen Spadaro, Robert and his wife Diane Lee, Diane Mesanko & her husband Greg, Stephen & his partner Paul Castree, Richard and his wife Michelle & Thomas & his wife Ellen. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Diana Priggre, Kenny & Thomas Macchiaverna, Louis & Jenna Spadaro & Thomas Richard and Julia Spadaro. Her sisters Joan Kean & Margaret Sacco. Visiting will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Thursday 11:30 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Team Randy in care of Toms River Fitness 213 Route 37 East, Toms River, would be greatly appreciated.
