Dante Danny Broccoli

Dante “Danny” Broccoli 87 of Toms River passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday June 17th 2011. Born in Trenton, NJ he resided in Queens, NY prior to moving to Toms River. Danny retired from The U.S. Post Office in NYC where he worked as a letter carrier and while in Toms River he worked as a starter for Cedar Creek Golf Course. He was a veteran serving in the Coast Guard during WWII, he belonged to the VFW, was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed playing golf, was a huge Frank Sinatra fan and enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing. He was predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Rose Broccolo(Molino); sisters Nellie Ritacco and Rosie Ammirata; and brothers Joe Broccolo and Dom Broccolo. Surviving are his loving wife Barbara Broccoli(O’Field) ; son Robert Broccoli of Baldwin, NY; daughter Denise and husband Gary Spence of Burlington, NC; 4 brothers Frank Broccolo of Glencove, LI, Fred Broccolo of FL, William Broccolo of FL, and Vincent Broccolo of FL; 5 grandchildren Michael Spence, Desiree Green, Kristin Hepler, Valerie Broccoli and Paul Broccoli; and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday June 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at The Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday June 22nd, 2011 11am at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
