Daryl W. Ricker, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 29, 2026 at his home. Born on February 25, 1948, in Easton, PA, Daryl lived in Toms River, NJ, where he built a life marked by devotion to family, steady hard work, and a quiet, kind-hearted way of being that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Daryl graduated from Easton High School in Easton, Pennsylvania, in 1966. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business in 1970 from Robert Morris College in Pennsylvania—an achievement that reflected the determination and diligence that shaped his life and work.
Daryl was employed as a Sales Associate for Paterson Dental. In his professional life, he was known as a dependable presence—someone who approached his responsibilities with care, perseverance, and respect for others.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Daryl’s greatest pride was his family. He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Wendy Barbieri. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Ricker of Toms River; his brother, Dr. Frank Ricker of Charleston, South Carolina; and his three daughters: Meredith and Robert Brunner of Milford, NJ; Stephanie Reid of Carlisle, KY; and Amanda and Jason Soricelli of Toms River, NJ. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, who were a continuing source of joy and meaning in his life.
Daryl found happiness in the outdoors and in the traditions he cherished. He was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and skier, and he enjoyed Bluegrass music. He was a member of the AFBA in Windgap, Pennsylvania (American Fiddle and Bluegrass Association). He also gave generously of his time as a youth softball coach, offering steady guidance and encouragement with the same warmth and dedication that defined so much of his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
