Deborah Mahaffey

Deborah V. Mahaffey passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 14, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born and raised in Orange, New Jersey, she resided in Ocean County for the last 34 years.

Ms. Mahaffey was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, life partner and friend.

She worked at Tender Years Day Care in Point Pleasant, NJ as a teacher's aid for over twenty years. She loved working at the day care and spending time with kids.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Ann Schieman; and two brothers: James and Edward Schieman.

Surviving are her significant other, Edward Halmuth; her daughter, Linda Borger, and her husband Bill; 6 grandchildren and their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; and her brother John Schieman. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Aunt debbie, We have had our ups and downs, But we had a very nice talk about everything and moved past it. I am so thankful we did and got closer after that. Gram, thank you for teaching all of your grandchildren what strength looks like. We are all so grateful to have had you as our grandma.
