Dolores Gruskos-Tokarski (nee Mancinelli) passed away Friday May 15,2020 at the age of 88 after a brave battle with cancer. Dolores was born May 30, 1931 in Newark NJ, to Fred and Florence Mancinelli, growing up in Kearny NJ she graduated from Kearny High School. Married in 1952 to her first husband, Stanley Gruskos, the couple resided in Irvington, NJ. They then moved to East Brunswick, NJ in 1963 where they raised four children before Stanley's untimely death in 1983. Family was always her first priority, taking care of her home and children, baking and volunteering at school and church.
She was blessed to have had a second chance for love and companionship with her second husband, Stanley Tokarski whom she married in 1994. Upon retiring in 1994 from the Middlesex County Medical Society, they moved to Toms River, NJ where they enjoyed many years together socializing in their community and traveling.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Florence Mancinelli, her sister and brother-in-law, Harry and Florence Stoddard, her husband Stanley Gruskos and husband Stanley Tokarski, and her son Thomas Gruskos, and sister in law, Angie Mancinelli.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Mancinelli of Lakewood CO, Daughter, Linda Huttenbach and her husband Jeff of Methuen, Ma., son, Alan Gruskos and his wife Rochelle of North Hanover Township, NJ, and daughter, Cynthia Doran and her husband Tim of Toms River NJ, and daughter in law, Susan Gruskos of Colonia of NJ. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jason Huttenbach, Nicole, Eric and Daniel Doran, and Theresa Gruskos, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Her Catholic faith was very important to her and she was a communicant of Saint Maximilian Kolbe RC Church and a member of the Rosary Society and volunteered for Deborah Heart and Lung Center. She was an avid reader, and she also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. She loved spending time with her family and had a love of animals, especially her granddogs. She was a warm, compassionate and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
