Dolores J Smith, 90, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born in Newark to the late Joseph and Marie Scarano and had lived in Union before moving to Holiday Heights. She worked for Dr. Morris Bass for over thirty years as an office manager.
She was a member of the Holiday Heights Chorus for many years. She was a beloved member of the Social Club and Woman's Auxiliary as well as the Shuffleboard and Bocce League for many years which she and her husband Ray enjoyed very much.
Dolores was predeceased by her first husband Robert Lee, cherished daughter Patricia Lee Proulx and her beloved second husband Raymond Smith. Raymond gave her and her children and grandchildren many years of love and happiness until his passing in 2013.
Dolores leaves behind her beloved son Michael Lee and daughter in law Jennifer Lee who live in Ohio. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; Jared, Megan and her husband David, Katie and her husband Frank, Michael, Makayla and Daniel whom she loved very much, her five great grandchildren; Riley, Ramsey, Lucca, Troy, Luca and Violet. Dolores is also survived by her brother Joseph Scarano and her sister in law Carol, who she loved dearly as well as many nieces and nephews and her former daughter in law Linda Piskowski and her husband Frank.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Funeral Service will begin promptly at 6:15 pm.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
