

Born in the Bronx, NY, Dottie was the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Kurilchick) Galasso. After graduating Evander Childs High School, she married the love of her life, Nicholas (Nick) Intrieri, on July 25, 1959. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children. Dottie and Nick made their home in Yonkers, NY before retiring to Whiting, NJ in 2004.
For many years, Dottie worked in retail, selling men’s fragrance at John Wanamaker’s in Yonkers, where she formed warm connections with coworkers and customers alike. In retirement, she remained active in the community, volunteering for both the Shriners Children's Hospital and the local VNA Hospice chapter.
Dottie will be remembered as a loving, selfless, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking and sharing her meals with family and friends. She loved all things beautiful - art, music and living life to the fullest. Dottie had great faith that gave her strength and peace in her final hours. Her warmth, generosity, and "spark" touched everyone who knew her.
Dottie was predeceased by her beloved husband Nick, who passed away in 2017; her son, Dominick, in 2001; her mother Mary in 2006; and her father Daniel in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter Roe Intrieri and her wife Christine of North Salem, NY, and grandchildren Natalie and Juliette; her daughter Regina Zupan and her husband Edward of Mahopac, NY, and grandchildren Nikki-Anne, Christina and her husband Brandon and great-grandchildren Santiago and Luciano, and her grandchild Rachel and her husband Jonathan; and her daughter Laura Tyls and her husband Christopher of Brick, NJ, and grandchildren Stephen, Kaitlyn and her husband Patrick, and great-grandchild Remy. She is survived by her brother Bobby and wife Joan.
Dottie’s love for her family, her kindness, and her generous spirit will remain a lasting legacy.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who showed love, friendship, and support to Dottie throughout her life. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will live forever in the hearts of those she loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 28, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm. Cremation will be private. Inurnment will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
