Edward W. Bailey Sr., 77, passed away on November 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ later moving to Lanoka Harbor, NJ before settling in Jim Thorpe, PA.
Ed was a NJ Transit bus driver for 30 years and retired with a perfect driving record. He enjoyed competing in bus rodeos at all levels; local, state and national. Ed was proud to represent NJ Transit nationally many times.
Ed was very involved in the Allentown Area Corvette Club and Juke Box Cruisers; competing and showing his 2004 Corvette, taking home numerous awards. For the past 10 years, Ed cherished going on cruises with his family. He had a genuine interest in others, and loved engaging and talking to people, endearing him to many.
Ed was predeceased by his wife, Patricia in 2009 and his son Edward Jr. in 2001. Survived by his siblings; Barbara Greco, Carol Lewis, and Michael Bailey along with his children; Kellyann Fay and her husband, Gene, Mark D. Bailey and his wife, Susanne, Christine Rawlins and her husband, Mark, and Dana Lambides. Ed adored his grandchildren Kevin, Justin, Brandon, Brittany, Thomas, Aaron, Edward III, Carly Jane, Morgan, Victoria, Savanna and his step-grandchildren; Mark Jr., Jeremy, Amy, and great grandchildren; Kaleb, Ayden and Owen Silfies coming 2019.
Ed was truly one-of-a-kind; we miss him already.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-4:30pm with a funeral service to held at 4:30pm at the Quinn-Hopping funeral home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
