Edward Wadiak of Holiday City South, a native of Carteret, NJ, passed away on April 9, 2018. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard. Edward was employed for 34 years by New-Departure-Hyatt, a division of General Motors Corp. as a Tool Sharpener, retiring in 1987.
He was predeceased by his son Edward James Wadiak and his wife Tess, and his great grandson Alex Galatro. He is survived by his wife Agnes Sunnee Wadiak and his son Richard and his wife Theresa of New London, PA and his son Mark and his wife Maryann of South Brunswick, NJ. He is also survived by his three grandsons Brian (Donna), Kyle (Morgan) and Kevin (Chelsea), two granddaughters Jennifer (Derek) and Julie (David), six great grandchildren Madison, Joshua, Carson, Abigail, Anthony and Bane.
Edward was a member of the Holday City South Men's Club, Pairs and Squares Dance Club, Recreation Club, Bocce and Shuffleboard Clubs for many years. He was co-chairman of the yearly flu shots given at Holiday City South and volunteered for many other activities within the community as well as a member of the VFW. He was a member of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church. Visiting will be held Tuesday April 17th, from 10 am to 12 pm. A funeral service will follow Tuesday at 12 pm. Entombment will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
