Born in Bristol, PA, Frank grew up in Belleville, NJ and raised his family in Bloomfield before retiring to Toms River in 1986. He worked as a Tool & Die Maker for 43 years at ITT in Clifton. An Army AirCorp WWII veteran, Frank was a Lifetime Member of AMVETS Post 26 in Belleville.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Josephine (Cannella) Garamella; a son Joseph Garamella and his life partner, Kevin Longobardi, of Brooklyn; a daughter, Karen Garamella of Chicago; a sister Susan Rossi of Morris Plains; and 2 brothers, Anthony (Gary) Garamella of Lake Worth, FL and Joseph Garamella of Caldwell. He is predeceased by a sister Sarah Hunter. Frank is also survived by many nieces and nephews—and his loving Yorkie, Becca.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8 from 3-6pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, April 9 at St Maximilian Kolbe, Toms River. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union NJ.
