

Frank J. Stamler, 95, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday November 15, 2014 at his home. Born in Clifton, NJ, he resided in Passaic, Garfield and Elmwood Park prior to moving to Toms River in 1992. Frank was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Medical detachment of the 159th Infantry regiment stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was a proud member of the VFW. As a younger man Frank participated in many athletic clubs in Clifton and was the QB of the semi-professional Lincoln AC Eagles. Frank retired as the lead supervisor for Pantasote, Inc, Passaic, NJ and prior to that he had been a chemical operator at Hayden Inc. Garfield, NJ. Frank was an avid golfer. He spent many days playing with friends and family members on courses in Passaic and Ocean County. Most of all Frank was a devoted friend and family man. He was well known for his calm, upbeat, fun-loving personality. Frank loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Johanna Furst Stamler, his sister Theresa and his two brothers Anthony and Matthew. He is survived by two daughters Susan and her husband Charles Spano and Joan Parrillo; grandchildren, Beth and husband Ken Naughton, Lauren and husband Joseph Delgado, Craig Parrillo, Amy and husband Matt McCloskey, Charles Spano and his wife Claire Carre; great-grandchildren, Gavin McNaughton, Hayden McNaughton, Noah Delgado, Nicolas Delgado, and Ella Delgado; sister’s –in-law, Mary LaMantia, Pauline and her husband Ed Verduin; and also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday November 20, 2014 from 9 to 11 AM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 AM on Thursday at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Toms River. Cremation will be private.
