

George F. Golden, 93, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on June 18, 2026. He was born on April 15, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Francis and Charlotte Golden. As a child, George grew up in Seaside Heights until moving to Toms River in 1957.
After high school, George joined the AirForce and proudly served during the Korean War, a reflection of the steady devotion and sense of duty that guided his life. He later dedicated 36 years of hard-working service to the Township of Toms River in Public Works, earning the respect of those who knew him through his reliability and commitment.
George was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel in 1996 and is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 25 years, his loving children: Robert and his wife Virginia; Patricia Pezzi and her husband Michael; George Jr., and his wife Bonnie; Donna Hoagland and her husband Fred; James and his wife Lori; and Amie Kugler. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Eric (Andrea), Alison, Rebecca (Anthony), Jessica (Gabriel), Joshua, Tori, Kellie, Kaitlin, Alyssa, Lilly, and Rylee; and 4 great-grandchildren: Charley, August, Emily, and Cooper. George is also survived by his sister, Patricia Grooms.
George cherished time spent with those he loved most, and his family was always at the center of his days. He also enjoyed going to the East Dover Firehouse, where the simple comfort of familiar faces and community meant a great deal to him.
A Celebration of George’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 6–8 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River.
