George A. Perina, 84, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2013. He was raised in Astoria, Queens, NY. He fought in the Korean War from 1951-1953, earning a Bronze Star. George was a Tool and Die maker his entire career, retiring in 1993. He and his wife Joan moved to Toms River in 1987. His hobbies were fishing, crabbing and adventures he shared with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Beckbissinger, of 43 years; his brother and sister-in-law Harold and Maryann Perina, and his parents.
George is survived by his loving family, three children, Marian Coffey and her partner Mary Rizzuto, George Perina Jr. and his wife Lori, and Joanne Mehous. His four grandchildren Katie and Richie Coffey, Anne-Marie and Jason Porter, Tonianne and Justin Grafton, Stephanie and Richard Slone, Samantha Oates and Emily and Jenny Mehous; also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
