

Jerry was born March 15, 1940, in Newark, NJ, to Gerald and Josephine (Riso) Racano.
He worked as a chemical operator at Ciba Geigy for many years. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and loved betting on the ponies. Jerry volunteered a lot of his time spending time with elderly residents at a local care facility. He enjoyed woodworking and made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family over the years. He was also an avid gardener and grew the most delicious vegetables every summer.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julia, sister Maryann (Carmen) Scappetullo, brother Richard Racano, children Denise Flora, Jerry (Virginia) Racano, Lisa (Patrick) DeCicco, Richard (Kristen) Racano, step-daughter Linda Knight, and step-sons, Fredrick Clague and Robert Clague, grandchildren Lisa Walizer, Jodi Flora, Melissa Cocco, Joseph Flora, Shawn DeCicco, Jeremy Racano, Heather DeCicco, Eric Clague, Breanna DeCicco, Sara Racano, Taylor Racano, and Alexander Clague, great grandchildren Heidi, Emily, Evan, Ryan, Brandon, Aiden, Nicholas, Preston, Christopher, Michael, Isabella, Joey, Cameron, and Eli and great great granddaughter Ella Grace.
Jerry was predeceased in death by his parents Gerald and Josephine and step-son James.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 1-3 pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home in Toms River.
