Harold K. Lindsay, 95, of Toms River, passed away peacefully in his home on June 25, 2020. Born in Ottawa, Canada, Harold was the son of the late Harold and Edna Lindsay. Harold leaves behind his beloved wife of 74 years Aspasia (Pat) Lindsay, daughter Donna Lindsay, son Michael and his wife Canice Lindsay, grandchildren Stephanie and her husband Bradley Matson, Allyson Lindsay, Natalie Lindsay, Kaela Lindsay, and great grandson Aiden Matson.

Harold joined the Canadian Navy at age 16 and is a proud veteran of World War II. Harold and his wife Aspasia met at a military function where they shared their first of many dances together. Harold spent many of his years in Ottawa where he raised his family, was an Ottawa Firefighter and worked in the steel industry. He relocated his family to Toms River in 1975 where he continued his career in the steel industry and upon retirement in 1990 he began a new career in Real Estate.

Harold was a true family man spending as much of his free time with his children and grandchildren. He anxiously awaited the phone call for babysitting duty or to attend a soccer match to cheer on the grandchildren to victory. He was an avid pool player dedicating much time to being the President of the Holiday City pool league. He was a devoted fan to “old time” hockey where his allegiance was partial to the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. Saturday nights were spent watching Hockey Night in Canada and raising a cold Molson win or lose.

Harold’s warm and upbeat personality touched all those who came in contact with him. His gift of gab was one that he enjoyed sharing with family members, close friends and strangers. His smile and willingness to share a laugh or a helping hand are traits that will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and although he will be missed by all, his impact on those who knew him will be everlasting.
