

Harold H. Zastrow, 100, of Toms River passed away on Sunday December 2nd, 2012 at home. Born to William and Jean Zastrow in Hoboken, he resided in Union prior to moving to Toms River in 1975. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving from 1943-1945. Harold was a life member of the Holiday City at Berkeley First Aid Squad, lifetime member of the Public Service Retired Employees’ Club, Jersey Shore Chapter, S.R.P.W. Men’s Golf Club and Men’s Club and longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beachwood. He was predeceased by his first wife Erna (Stern) Zastrow, second wife Ruth A. Zastrow and brother Wilbur Zastrow. Surviving are his loving children Kathy and Robert Leifeste of Colonia, NJ, Kenneth and Jean Zastrow of Eads, TN, JoAnn and George Timer of Bridgeville, PA, Joseph and Virginia Weber of Cranford, NJ and John and Claire Weber of Union, NJ, 11 grandchildren Tracey and Thomas Finan of Germany, George and Andrea Timer of Dover, PA, Joseph and Alison Weber of Bloomfield, NJ, Bryan and Jill Timer of Allentown, PA, Jessica and Neil Subramanya of Stratford, NJ, Jeff and Liz Weber of Manalapan, NJ, Heather Leifeste of Goleta, CA, Kyle Weber of Union, NJ, Erica and Jeff Sutch of Mammoth, CA, Kristin and Shawn Bracht of Union, NJ, and John Zastrow of Memphis, TN and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Desrian Gould for her loving care and support as Harold’s caregiver for the past two years. Visitation will be Tuesday December 4th, 2012 from 5-9 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 130 Cable Avenue, Beachwood, NJ on Wednesday December 5th, 2012 at 10:30am. Interment will be private.
