Helen Kwiatkowski

Helen Kwiatkowski (nee Chuck) died peacefully on September 6, 2021, in her Toms River home surrounded by her daughters. Born in Jersey City, she raised her family in Kearny and enjoyed summers in her Mystic Island home. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a accounts receivable and accounts payable clerk. Since settling in Silver Ridge North in 2003, she was a member of the Red Hats Society, the Women’s Club and a pool monitor. An avid knitter, she enjoyed playing cards, bocce ball and mahjong, as well as bus trips with her large circle of friends. Her happiest memories were spending time with her family, especially around the dinner table.

Helen is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Kwiatkowski. She also joins her parents, Samuel and Felicia Chuck, brothers Edward, Joseph, John, and Samuel, as well as her cherished Uncle, Chester Goczkowski.

Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and a large grieving family, including daughters Judith McCarthy and her husband Edward, and Cynthia Kwiatkowski and her long-time partner Nicholas Poverman; grandchildren, Justine Rios and her husband Robert, and Jonathan McCarthy; as well as great-grandson, Jackson Rios. Helen is also survived by adoring siblings Diana Schalk (William), Elaine Kelly (George), Paul Chuck (Mildred), Anthony Chuck (Patricia), Chester Chuck (Linda), and Dorothy Bamford (Robert), and three generations of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, 4pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021 10 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, with Entombment to follow to Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
