Born in Orange, he resided in West Orange before settling in the Holiday City South community of Toms River.
Prior to retiring, he was a supervisor with Microlab FXR in Livingston. After retiring, he opened up a deli business with his son, Jimmy, named J & J Deli in East Hanover.
Jim graduated from West Orange High School in 1955 with his high school sweetheart, who he married in 1958, Frances. An avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan, his family meant the most to him. Jim was a very strong-willed person.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia in 1992; and his brothers: Anthony and Andrew Corrao.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Frances; his son, James and his wife Marlene; his daughter, Michele Corrao; his grandsons: Mark Grimm and Jon Grimm and his wife, Nikki; and a great-granddaughter, Annabella Marie Grimm; his sister, Marilyn Rozzo Corrao; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
All services will be held privately under the direction of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to the Cedar Grove Elks Lodge #2237, 405 Bowden Rd, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
