I’m saddened by the passing of Dr. James F. Donovan. He was my podiatrist and my late parents as well. Most important he was a great guy and I’ll miss our conversations of running, fitness and the game of softball. My condolences to his family, friends and staff.

I am heartbroken over the loss of this wonderful man. The deepest sympathy to his loving wife Diane, children and grandchildren. I first met Dr. Donovan while I was working in the Emergency Room 35 years ago. I first became his patient and later his friend. He made every one of his patients feel like they were his only patient.
I am quite sure that everyone in heaven has already met the new angel and he has already told most of them the benefits of wearing flip flops! I already miss our chats about our work and our families. I was greatly blessed to call him "my friend".
Rest in peace Jim, you have left an amazing legacy and will never be forgotten.

I am so saddened by this news. I had such respect for doc D, he was an amazing doc and an awesome human being.. he created a cheerful atmosphere at his office. He never seemed cranky or annoyed. He did bilateral bunion surgery on me and I sent him many patients!! I would see him on his bike or running especially in the boardwalk and he always stopped to speak to me . I am a visiting nurse so we had a common interest in health care as well as the fact that I am also a runner... I will never forget him. When I had my bunion surgery my friend bought me a stuffed animal which I named DONOVAN.. I still have it and it sits on my spare room bed.. prayers to his lovely family

I send my condolences to Jim’s family and friends on the passing of our CBA classmate. What a very nice and brilliant young man he was at CBA. He had the respect, admiration and friendship of everyone in our class. I know we sent quite a few of us on to Villanova so he was always surrounded by his old friends. May God bless Jim, his family and friends. I know he will watch over us and help us all the days of our lives.

Dr. Donovan was a great doctor, but more importantly a genuinely nice guy. It was always great to see him and catch up on the latest. He will be missed by many. I'm sure he's running marathons in Heaven. May he rest in eternal peace. With deepest sympathy to his beloved family.

Sincerest condolences to family and friends of Jim on your loss. It was long ago and a whole different time of life but I have so many great memories from our teen years including the infamous black Gremlin, "Roundabout" by Yes, the Kiss concert at Nassau Coliseum and that crazy, absurd jump shot of his that somehow worked more often than not. I hope you may find some peace in this difficult time.

I remember one warm sunny summer day when a bunch of us from the Wynnfield neighborhood took off in cars with softball gear and drinks to a local Freehold park to play a fun game of softball together boys and girls. We were all teenagers but just just having fun that afternoon together just sticks out in my mind. I believe Jim was a leader for us younger kids and I always respected him for that in looking out for us.
