James F. Gallagher, 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Friday July 20, 2018 at Holiday Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a lifelong resident there until moving to Toms River in 1983. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WW II. James retired as a supervisor from Metropolitan Transit Authority in NYC after 33 years of service.
James was predeceased by his wife Maura D. Gallagher and his son-in-law John Yurko. He is survived by his daughter Maura D. Yurko; his grandson James A. Yurko and his loving nieces.
Visiting hours will be from 2-6 PM Sunday July 22, 2018 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 23, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel in the Risen Christ Mausoleum, 56 Cedar Grove Rd.
