James R. Ormsby , 88, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Tuesday October 22nd at his home. Born in Manhattan, NY, he lived for many years in Montclair, NJ before moving to Toms River 30 years ago. James was retired as an insurance agent having worked for many years for Royal Globe Insurance Co. in NYC. He was a lifelong member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1277 in Montclair, NJ and was a former member of the Holy Name Society and Lion’s Club of Immaculate Conception Parish in Montclair. He was a member of the Silver Ridge Park West Clubhouse in Toms River.
James was predeceased by his first wife Theresa Ormsby in 1994.
James is survived by his wife Constance Ormsby; four sons and spouses, James and Karen Ormsby, William and Patte Ormsby, Stephen and Kim Ormsby and Michael and Laura Ormsby; two daughters, Kathy Ormsby and Mary Rapp and her husband Alan; he’s also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 25th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Cremation will be private.
