Good Afternoon, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Vic Degracia, JSAG(Jersey Shore Athletic Group) President and I am one of jingle's friends. In behalf of JSAG Family, it is with great sadness that I stand in front of you today to celebrate the life of our friend & officer Jingle. Jingle's life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to understand why tragic things like this happen to such a good person. However, this is a question without answer and we should not dwell on the loss of our dear friend, husband, grandfather, coach, manager, officer, son & brother. Today, let's celebrate his life and remember all of the remarkable things Jingle accomplished and how wonderful his life was. Jingle & I met in a Basketball Gym in Northern New Jersey thru his favorite Nephew & star player Yogi Veranga & from that meeting & conversations our hearts & minds tangled each other because we knew that our passion & vision were all the same "basketball". He told me to form a team- Me the Coach - Him the Manager, & from that point our friendship flourished and with the teams & tournaments we have been through these years were amazing, records wise - Champions in Old Bridge FACOB, JSAG Memorial, Caden Dudt Memorial Tournaments (players-1. Yogi Veranga, 2. Chris Taylor, 3. Ryan Degracia, 4. Ryan De Guzman, 5. Ian Reyes, 6. Leo Yanogacio, 7. Kevin Skeivaski, 8. Chino De Guzman, 9. Mike Mayes, 10. Clemente Brothers, 11. Romeo Baptista & others... and the biggest accomplishments was the NABA(North American Basketball Association)2010 as Runner Up because this was played among the stars of all players in America & Canada Filipino Communities. Then, I invited Jingle to be a board member of JSAG so one day HE(Jingle) can be one of our officers - that happened on December 2012 during our Election of Officers where I nominated him as President Elect for 2015-2016 with acceptance and been planning after my terms that he will take care of all other teams, tykes, peewees, bantams, damsels, juniors, girls, juveniles, ladies open, other than Men's Open team, unfortunately things happened and we can't control. With permission from the family, JSAG Officers & Board Members decided to have a Jingle Veran Memorial Tournament every third Sat & Sun of July every year in tribute to our suppose to be President of JSAG for 2015-2016. It is incredibly sad that Jingle's life ended so soon and I cannot put into words how much we will miss him. Jingle was a positive person & would not want us to be sad today. If he were here he would tell us to cheer up, smile, enjoy & remember all of the great memories we all shared. Even though Jingle may be gone his memory will live on in all of us, forever. Jingle, We appreciate your friendship & will never forget you.

Pare ko, Thank You. We had our share of Good Times together as friend and as brother. You and me in the Green Toyota between Atimonan and Baguio. Almost every weekend for I think 3 or 4 years. Then you migrated and really did your part as a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather and a Community Leader. How you did all these from when we were together still amazes me until now. Everybody Loves You and I am very proud that once I was blessed by your company. RIP my friend. You will forever be in us.

I will always cherish the memories i had with Jingle when he was still in Soldiers Hills. Those are wonderful times. Jingle, may you rest in peace

Jing and I first met as neighbors in Astoria in 1987 and became friends. Our kids grew up together and throughout the years our families have remained close. When Kevin was born, he gladly accepted my invitation to become one of his godfathers. I considered him not just a friend but a brother.
When I learned about his sickness, I prayed for him everyday. For God to help him get better and to give him the strength and courage to fight his sickness.
Now, I want to ask God why this happened but I will not. Instead, I trust God that this happened because it was for the better. We all know that it hurts us so much to lose someone very dear and close to us and that most of time, we hold onto something much longer than we should. In the process, we create more pain and harm than good. Jing was suffering and God decided to call him home. For God has better plans for him and has reserved a special place for him in His kingdom. A place called Heaven...where pain is no more. A place where you my friend can have eternal peace and everlasting happiness.
Goodbye my friend. I will always remember you as the loving husband you always were, the responsible father you always were and the kind and funny person you always were to all your friends.
You have left a deep void in our hearths. You will be greatly missed.

Ate Charo, Paula, Alex, Mama Luddie, Daddy Phillip, and Jun-Jun:

Because my relationship with the Veran family is so rich and deep, I am very much saddened by the loss of Kuya Jingle.  The Veran family has uniquely related to me since I was a young, brash teenager.  Ate Charo has many times given me the most sound advice (particularly with regards to the deepest inner workings of female thoughts).  Paula has been one of my best friends, confidants, and style consultants.  Alex has middled between playful niece, trusted intern, and my liason to the arts.  Jun Jun has been like a brother to me, in the style of Reggie.  

And for many years, whether I really was aware of it or not, Kuya Jingle has maintained a consistent positive impression on me.  It is easy to miss, but to those acquainted with him, Kuya's demeanor exuded quiet, cool confidence about himself and awareness of others.  Often, we would nod to each other and this would convey so much - such nods I received as his tacit approval of my actions, my growth.   He was always discreet with his comments, always off to the side so as to not embarrass me, but they would resonate deeply, sharply.   A young man loves to hear a more seasoned gentleman tell it like it is.  Clearly, Kuya Jingle was a guy's guy, one of the boys, but a man amongst men.  A man who put family first.  A man who chased his dreams of pursuing a championship as a general manager.  During those runs with those teams, I saw an invigorated Kuya Jingle who will always remind me that life isn't just about the hum drum routine of going to work everyday, it is much sweeter than that.  As a lover of creativity, I saw that Kuya Jingle's creativity was his leadership and ability to bring together talents, friendship and teamwork.  Kuya Jingle's bravery to claim his dreams and to merge them with his real life is what makes him heroic.  Through these things, I see that his family saw him as a hero.  Which demonstrates to me a simple formula - if you want to be a hero to your family, one way to do it is to follow your dreams.  Because it gives them, and others like me, courage to follow their own dreams.   
Also, Kuya Jingle, without reservation, supported me.  He was one of my first clients.  He was always rooting me on, wishing me well, and did so generously and with a happy heart and disposition.  Again, that seems simple, but it is rare.  Sometimes people stop rooting for you.  Kuya Jingle never did.  I guess that's the coach in him.   
My family, core and extended, is my greatest treasure.  And Kuya Jingle always eptimoizes this feeling of family.  Honestly, when you Verans moved from New York City to Toms River, it was a bit hard to understand.  Why would you leave such the greatest city in the world?  But, the answer is obvious.  When I say, "Toms River, NJ", what I feel in my heart is "Family, NJ."  And I know that Kuya Jingle felt this too, because I know he would do anything to be here, which is why he is so deeply missed, because we also know how badly he wanted to stay.  And this is why his loss is so deeply felt, because we can't simply "hang out."  And though Family will go on, because Kuya Jingle spread and multiplied so much love, his influence on our lives shall persist..  Kuya Jingle will be in my prayers, and in my memories, and when it is time for me to seize a dream or two, I will think of him and be inspired.  My deepest condolences to the Veran family, but especially Ate Charo.

I will miss seeing the mischievous twinkle in his eye, his fun loving smile, and his steely gaze as he stared down competitors on the court.  I know you will be looking down at your family from heaven.  You are very loved and always remembered.

We have fond memories of the good times that we had together, when we were all living in Astoria. Those were indeed the good old days, and we will certainly miss Jingle.
