John P. Barton, 81, of Toms River passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at his home while surrounded by his family. Born in Paterson, NJ he was a life-long resident of Totowa until moving to Toms River in 2009. He was a newspaper press man for the Paterson News which became the Herald News and retired as a foreman for the Newark Star Ledger.
John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Joan Nardella Barton; his daughter Joan Barton Rourke and her late husband Michael Rourke and his son John G Barton Jr.
Funeral services are being handled by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Burial will be at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Donations in John’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
