John A. Ciano age 90 of Toms River and formerly of Garfield died Monday March 15th at Community Medical Center, Toms River. John was a self-employed entrepreneur, a World War II Navy Veteran, parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp., Past Commander of the VFW, Garfield and a member of the American Legion, Garfield. He was born and raised in the Bronx and lived in Garfield for 30 years before moving to Toms River in 1997. He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2008, his son John in December, his brother Thomas and his sister Gloria. Surviving is his daughter Debbie and her husband Gary, his daughter in law Sharon, 5 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren. Visiting will be Sunday from 1-5 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11:30 AM Monday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
