

John (Jack) Andrew Gambardella, 84, of Toms River died Friday, December 10, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was born in Staten Island NY and moved to Hazlet NJ in 1975 and later to Toms River.
Jack was an Army veteran serving in Europe from 1959–1963. Upon returning from service he met his future wife Lorraine for the first time at the Meurot Club in Staten Island where they danced all night long. They spent the next 58 years together never leaving each others side. Jack worked as a train conductor for the Metropolitan Transit Authority for 22 years.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, always putting everyone he loved first, making every family occasion extra special. He always will be remembered for having a smile on his face, his funny puns and warm welcomes.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Adele Gambardella.
Surviving John are his siblings Adele Fitzgerald and Andrew Gambardella, his beloved wife of 58 years, Lorraine Gambardella, son and daughter-in-law Albert and Deanna Gambardella, daughter Diane Gambardella, daughter and son-in-law Adele and Erik Cehrs. His cherished grandchildren, Rachel and Benny Macias of Wellington Florida, Nicholas Cervasi of South Carolina, Jaclyn, Christopher, John and Nicole Gambardella, of Middletown, Sienna and Christian Cehrs of Alexandria, Virginia and great granddaughter Adriana Macias of Florida.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Quinn Hoping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
