

John A. Jacobs, 62, of Manchester passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Elizabeth and moved to Manchester in 1978 after receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force. After graduating from NJIT in 1975 as an Industrial Engineer, John began his career at Thomas & Betts in Elizabeth and later joined Villeroy & Boch in Cranberry, NJ. He enjoyed life, was an avid Giants and Devils fan and was especially passionate about traveling, fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is predeceased by his father, Alexander. Surviving John are his wife Pat of 41 years, his mother Jen of Elizabeth, brother Al and wife Diane of Barnegat, brother Mark and wife Pam of Bridgewater, sister Barbara and husband Al of Bridgewater, nieces Leah Defalcon, Brianne Reed, Christie Yoder, Sarah and Stephanie Jacobs, nephew Joe Abromaitis and lots of friends. Visitation will be Wednesday January 30th, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 31st, 2013 at 10am at St. John’s R.C. Church in Lakehurst, NJ. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veteran’s Cemetery.
