Born in Leggatinty, Frenchpark, County Roscommon, Ireland, Frank was predeceased by his parents John and Delia (Rogers) Leonard and brother Raymond. A resident of Toms River and formerly of Freehold, Frank was proud to be an American but never lost his love for his native Irish roots.
Frank is survived by his brother Tom Leonard (Marge) of Toms River and sister Rita Farrell (John) of Castlerea, Ireland.
A generous and warm-hearted man, Frank will be missed by his many nieces and nephews in the US, Ireland and England: Thomas, John, Mary, Cathy, Sean, David, Audrey, Alma, Hazel, Carol, Rachael and Damien and his godchild, Lauren.
Frank was employed by Local 68-Union of Operating Engineers at Newark Airport. Retiring in 2008, he enjoyed fishing, horse racing and traveling to Ireland and Florida to visit family and friends.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish in Toms River and a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore, Belmar.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 509 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ, followed by internment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
