Jonathan D. Butts

Jonathan D. Butts, 43, of Old Bridge, NJ passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plainfield, NJ Jonathan had lived in South Amboy and Old Bridge, NJ. He was a Teacher at NJ United Christian Academy, Cream Ridge, NJ teaching AP History, Music and Cooking.

He was an avid Musician who loved to play the Bass Guitar. He played with SGR and Echo Movement with his late brother Larry and Hashtags with his brother in law Tim. He enjoyed teaching music at Musicians Workshop, Freehold, NJ and had also taught at the school for the past two years. Jon enjoyed cooking for family and friends and in his earlier years loved to read Cookbooks and History books. During his time with his bands writing, playing guitar and singing music were his passions. Jon was one of the most caring people you could ever meet and he will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.

Jon was predeceased by his brother Larry Jr., in July 2023 and is survived by his loving parents, Larry Sr. and Mary Lou. Also surviving are his sister, Rebecca (Tim), his brother Anthony (Jessie) and his sister in law Kristin, his five nephews, Larry III, Daniel, Eddie, Ian and George, and one niece Grace.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Celebration of Jon's life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
