Julian Puma, 86, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Julian had lived in Valley Stream before moving to Toms River years ago. In his career, Julian was known for his artfully penned ledgers and his exacting accounting skills which he used as a purchaser for Williamsburg Steel and a contract negotiator for the Department of Defense. In retirement, he served as a director of the Holiday Heights Homeowners Association. He was a proud member of the Americans of Italian Heritage Club and the Republican Party of Berkeley Township.
Julian loved joy and laughter and had a smile that lit up the room. He would celebrate Christmas year-round (if permitted). Julian loved Italian food, classic movies, and trips to Atlantic City. A lifelong lover of music, Julian sang in the church choir at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for 12 years and in the St. Joseph’s choir for a few more. He started his best days with a song.
Julian is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Gloria, his sons John and Peter, his grandchildren Eric and Sarah, his brother Frank and sister-in-law Marie, his goddaughter Jeanine, and all his nieces and nephews.
