Karol "Charlie" Popovich

Karol “Charlie” Popovich, 89, of Toms River passed away on Tuesday November 6th, 2012 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Czechoslovakia he lived in Jersey City and Iselin prior to moving to Toms River in 1984. He was an Army Veteran serving from 1943 to 1945. Charlie was a member of the VFW Post 10185 of Berkeley Township, The American Legion and enjoyed Bocce Ball. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years Pauline Hisen, son Michael Popovich and wife Eileen of Woodbridge, daughter Carol Ann Rosko and husband George of Virginia, sister Clara Prokop of Maryland, grandchildren Katherine Marie, Kristin Ann, Keith, Jennifer and Allison and great grandchildren Avery, Michael, Adrianna, Michael and Casey. Visitation will be Thursday November 15th, 2012 from 4-8pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday November 16th, 2012 at 9:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
