Lorraine Gambardella

Lorraine Gambardella, 82 of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday June 17, 2023 at Deborah Heart and Lung, Browns Mills, NJ. Born in Staten Island to the late Albert and Rachel Giordano, Lorraine had lived in Hazlet prior to moving to Toms River years later.

At 17 she worked as a cashier at Foodfair on Staten Island where she met many of her life long friends. She met her sweetheart and best friend Jack at a dance in the Meurot Club, it was love at first sight. They spent the next 58 years together happily married raising a family and enjoying their grandchildren. Lorraine loved to cook and would always make your favorite dish when you visited her home. The holidays were always festive, especially Christmas when the house was decorated from top to bottom with lights and ornaments. Lorraine loved to go on cruises and play cards with her friends every week. Lorraine's kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband John in 2021 and two sisters and one brother. Lorraine is survived by her three children; her son and daughter-in-law Albert and Deanna Gambardella, daughter Diane Gambardella, daughter and son-in-law Adele and Erik Cehrs. Her cherished grandchildren, Rachel and Benny Macias, Nicholas Cervasi, Jaclyn, Christopher, John and Nicole Gambardella, Sienna and Christian Cehrs and her two great granddaughters Adriana and Marissa and a great grandson on the way. She is also survived by one sister and one brother.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 10:00 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow to Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
