Born in Montclair, NJ he lived in Verona before moving to Toms River in 1998.
Louis was a volunteer fireman with the Verona Fire Department Company #1 for 40 years. He was also a fireman with Essex County Hospital.
He served in the U.S Air Force from 1952-1956 during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Pauline (Ruggiero) Belanger. 3 daughters: Sharon Jones of Florida, Suzanne Eckert and her husband Joe of Ortley Beach and Stacy Christiano and Burke of Florida. 2 sons: Steve of New Lisbon and Scott and his wife Renee of Hopatcong. Also by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday from 11am with a service to begin at 12:30pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
