Margaret “Peggy” Ricciardelli, 72, of Toms River passed away peacefully and gracefully Thursday December 26, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren. Born in Newark, Peggy grew up in Harrison and had moved to Bloomfield to raise her family before moving to Toms River 19 years ago. Peggy worked in Customer Service the last 13 years for Harold Imports, Lakewood, NJ.
Peggy really enjoyed going to Atlantic City with her husband, watching her grandsons play Hockey and Baseball, having tea with her daughter Gineen and spending time with her daughter Sherri and her grandchildren Michael and Joseph in everything they did. She knew how to enjoy life to the fullest and always said she was the richest woman in the world to be blessed with loving family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Harold and Mary Arnold and her sister Cecilia Hamilton, Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Ernest, her two loving daughters, Gineen Ricciardelli, Sherri Taliercio and her husband Michael, and her two grandsons, her pride and joy, Michael and Joseph. Peggy is also survived by her siblings, Robert Arnold, Harold Arnold, Kathryn Arnold, Mary Ann Maag and her husband Frank, Regina Diamond and her husband Alexander and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Her family will miss her beyond words. Gineen remembers taking you to the beach at Seaside for the last time, when you were able to enjoy listening to music, putting your toes in the sand and having a few cocktails. Sherri fondly remembers spending every Memorial Day Weekend in Bethany Beach and other girl’s weekends with you, and shopping trips and hockey tournament weekends. There are not many memories that Sherri and Gineen have that don’t include you, and they will miss you tremendously. Her son in law Mike will miss her smile and wave that she would give him from the snack bar seats as he would pass by on his way to coach a hockey game. Peg’s grandsons will both miss their Mema so very much. Michael remembers seeing his first and only shooting star with his Mema. Joseph remembers having sleepovers, playing games and Mema making chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. They also both loved spending time watching movies and eating popcorn under the coffee table at Mema and Papa’s house. Going out to dinner was also another favorite memory.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 from 6-9 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 10:30 am, St. Maximillian Kolbe Church, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family of Margaret to help offset funeral costs; or to a non-profit close to the family’s heart, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation.
